Thomas Baumert

Thomas F. Baumert, MD, is Director of the Inserm Institute for Translational Medicine and Professor of Medicine at the University of Strasbourg. A board-certified internist and gastroenterologist, he trained at Harvard, NIH, and DKFZ. His research focuses on innovative therapies for fibrosis and cancer using liver disease as a model. He has authored 400+ publications, holds 25+ patents, and founded Alentis Therapeutics. His work is supported by the EU, NIH, and industry, and has earned him numerous awards including the Prix Galien and Inserm Research Award.
