Adam Robertson

Chief Scientific Officer Hemispherian

Dr Adam Robertson is Chief Scientific Officer of Hemispherian, where he leads development of the company’s first-in-class GLIX platform of small-molecule therapeutics targeting DNA-repair vulnerabilities in glioblastoma and other solid tumours. With more than 20 years’ experience in scientific research and drug discovery, he holds a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to establish his own research laboratory at Oslo University Hospital. His work centres on translating novel oncology candidates from preclinical models into the clinic, including GLIX1, now in first-in-human Phase 1/2a trials for glioblastoma through Hemispherian’s partnership with BioLineRx.

Seminars

Wednesday 2nd December 2026
Evidence – Improving Confidence in Glioblastoma Development by Understanding What Truly Predicts Clinical Success
10:30 am
  • Exploring why glioblastoma programmes continue to fail despite apparently encouraging preclinical data and examining the differences between marginal and clinically meaningful efficacy signals
  • Evaluating the predictive value of orthotopic and translational tumour models to better understand which preclinical outcomes are most strongly associated with clinical success
  • Applying lessons learned from glioblastoma development programmes to improve candidate selection, strengthen translational confidence, and avoid progression decisions based on weak or misleading data
Wednesday 2nd December 2026
Insights Exchange – How Can We Better Predict Clinical Success Before the Clinic?
11:40 am
  • Which preclinical endpoints, biomarkers, and model characteristics are most consistently associated with successful clinical outcomes?
  • How can organisations use clinical observations, imaging, and translational data to improve confidence in model-derived decisions and reduce late-stage risk?
  • What are the most common reasons promising preclinical programmes fail in patients, and how can model strategies be refined to improve predictability?
  • Audience Q&As
